For Roskilde AANDEBOOM produced 50 P-TREES in the typical Roskilde Orange color. The P-TREES were placed on 2 different spots near the main stage. By using the P-TREE the festivals problem with public peeing was significant reduced. The P-TREE is a temporary tree-friendly urinal that can be fixed on every tree using straps and lashings. The P-TREE gives a feeling of freedom. The P-TREE can be hooked up to a central sewerage system or connected to a tank with a pump. Ik vind het het altijd interessant om bij het ontwerp gebruik te maken van de eigenschappen en de inhoud van de omgeving, werken met dat wat het park te bieden heeft: singel, pad, stadsmuur, bomen, gras. Dus niet zomaar een gat graven en een bank plaatsen. Als het ware moet een ideale bank het park en het park de bank nodig hebben. Als doel een bank realiseren die toevoegt aan het park als loop, zit, rust, zoen, lig, ontmoet, ontloop, kijk, hond uitlaat, mijmer, strek, ren, denk, uitmaak, blow, lunch plek. Tijdens de bezoeken aan het plantsoen werd ik elke keer aangetrokken door de wildgroei van de planten en schimmels. Ik heb bij de uitwerking van de bank gebruik gemaakt van de kenmerken van een paddenstoel. Een paddenstoel is er opeens en wanneer het weer en de temperatuur veranderd is deze weer verdwenen. Door middel van de 'Boombank' wil ik de parkbezoeker op dezelfde manier verrassen. De Boombanken zijn door middel van een hang systeem vrij gemakkelijk in groepen op te hangen aan elke boom. Zonder de boom is de bank niet af. De boom heeft geen last van de bank. De bank heeft geen uitleg nodig zodra hij hangt zal de parkbezoeker begrijpen dat hij gemaakt is om op te zitten. Rogier Martens 2008 / 2011 I actively used the environment designing the ‘Tree Bench’ for the municipality of Amersfoort and worked with the elements that the park had to offer: trees, city walls, paths, and grass. It is no challenge to just dig a hole and a install a bench. An ideal bench need the environment and the environment needs the bench too. To achieve that goal a bench contributes to the park as a walk, sit, rest, kiss, lie, meet, watch, dog walk, day-dream, stretch, run, think, decide, smoke and lunch spot. During my visits to the park I was inspired by the plants overgrowth and mushrooms. In the design I used the characteristics of mushroom. mushroom is suddenly there and when the weather and temperature conditions change, they disappear. Using the Tree Bench I want surprise the park visitors in the same way. The Tree Benches can easily be attached to the trees using a suspension system. The Tree Bench will not hinder the tree itself. The visitor will understand immediately that the tree bench is made to sit on.
